Nico Castillo and Moy Muñoz reach the podium at the Pro-Am
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, April 29, 2026.– The Pro-Am at the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba was held successfully this Wednesday, delivering a day of camaraderie, competition, and fun. While only one group claimed the top prize, all participants enjoyed a memorable experience on the course.
The amateur team of Andrés Gutiérrez, Ignacio Cepeda, Manuel Ramírez, and Luis Miguel Fuentes—paired with professional Jasmine Suwannapura—took first place.
Second place went to the group formed by Omar Terrazas, Christian Guillén, Gonzalo Gorráez, and Bernardo Aragón.
In third place was the team featuring two special guests, former footballers Nicolás Castillo and Moisés Muñoz, alongside Germán Magaña and Gonzalo Martínez.
Before teeing off, Castillo and Muñoz shared their excitement about the invitation and made the most of the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious event.
Other notable participants included Andrés Jurado Rivera, president of the Mexican Golf Federation; former tennis players Leonardo Herrera and Luis Enrique Herrera; as well as Santiago González, who took advantage of a break in his schedule to relax on the course before heading to Europe to continue his ATP Tour commitments.
Gustavo Santoscoy Arriaga, president of GS Sports Management, and Gustavo Santoscoy García, tournament director, also showcased their skills on the course.
Influencers Daniela Calle, Iker Walker, and Ignacio Pastrana were also part of the competition.
The closest-to-the-pin (O’Yes) prizes on the par-3 holes were awarded to Agustín Rodríguez Young (1.43 meters on hole 4), Alejandro Vázquez (2.59 meters on hole 8), Juan Carlos Mantecón (2.1 meters on hole 10), and Andrés Brictson (1.36 meters on hole 15).
Miranda García, in the women’s category, and Glen Kakol, in the men’s category, won the longest drive contest on hole 12 (par 4).
The day concluded with an awards ceremony held at Aliso Beach Club, setting the stage for the start of official competition this Thursday at El Camaleón, where the world’s top golfers will take center stage.
