Andrea Ostos to Compete in the MÉXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba

  • Chihuahua native receives sponsor exemption

Mayakoba, Quintana Roo, May 14, 2025Andrea Ostos will be another Mexican player competing in the MÉXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. The Chihuahua native received a sponsor exemption after Isabella Fierro earned direct entry into the tournament, which will be held from May 22 to 25 at El Camaleón Golf Course, opening the door for Ostos to take advantage of the opportunity.

Ostos was a member of the UTEP Miners women’s golf team (University of Texas at El Paso), competing in seven tournaments during her final season. She finished with a 75.3 stroke average and stood out with a fourth-place finish at the 2024 CUSA Women’s Golf Championship (April 15–17).

In recognition of her performance, she earned a spot on the 2024 CUSA All-Tournament Team. The CUSA Championship was her only Top-10 finish of the season and also marked her best result for the Miners. She achieved her lowest 54-hole score of the season with a 214 total at the same tournament and shot a career-low round of 68 at the GCU Invitational (February 27–28, 2024).

In April of this year, she also competed in three events on the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour.

Ostos joins Gaby López, María Fassi, and Isabella Fierro, who earned direct entry into the tournament, as well as María Balcázar and Clarisa Temelo, who also received sponsor exemptions.

The Chihuahua native will aim for a strong performance in the MÉXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba, a tournament that marks the return of professional golf to Mexico, featuring a $2.5 million purse.
